There seems to be a problem with my book Stretching
Scientifically.
No, it is not wrong information or poor
instruction. The problem is that to get the promised benefits you
have to actually read the book--just buying it is not enough. Too
bad....

Today on YouTube I found an example of what happens when someone
does not read the whole book. A nice young fellow, but with more
courage than strength, is trying to do a side split on chairs but
can't keep his balance and soon is in pain. I hope this is just
pain caused by not being accustomed to hard tension and not the
pain of strained muscles--but it does not look good. See it here:

He wrote: "This learned from Thomas Kurz and his most excellent
book "Scientific Stretching"". (The title of my book is Stretching
Scientifically
and you can get it at
http://www.stadion.com/stretch.html.)

Well, I guess he didn't read my advice on pages 63 and 65. If he
did, he'd do it with the same ease and balance as people who read
and followed it and whose photos are at
http://www.stadion.com/photos.html.

You can also watch how easy it is on my video shown here:

A few days ago I received a question, also resulting from not
reading the whole book:

Answer: Read pages 128-129 and you'll see why, to do side splits
with feet pointing upwards, there is no need for techniques other
that those in the book.

Best regards,

Thomas Kurz
