Strength exercises for flares?

:) Hi,

I am a breakdancer. This is a form of dance that requires a lot of upper body strength. I would like to know what exercises I should be doing in order to have enough strength to do flares. Not sure how to describe this move, imagine an elevated v-sit only your legs swing round your body without touching the ground. Does that make sense?

keep practicing flares, thats basically it. i also break and the best way to learn flares is to keep practicing the starting. lats are a big muscle used, you could work those up as well.

Thanks Raj,

Someone else told me to practice the planche position as well, but the start of the flare is real tough. I'll keep practising it. Where are you from? I live in Edinburgh, Scotland. I'm asian, I take it you are as well with a name like Raj.
